My father was a flight surgeon with the 12th Tactical Fighter Squadron based on Okinawa in the early 1960’s. He loved the Hun and got a good amount of stick time. His Wing Commander and friend was Frank Gabreski. Thanks for sharing these great pics of such an iconic Cold Warrior!

Last time I saw a Hun in flight was as a kid in 1969 on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii watching a performance by the Thunderbirds.
That would have been awesome to see the ThunderBirds flying F-100s !
My dad had a friend that flew those in the Colorado Air Guard. One glorious day ,in about 1973 , his friend buzzed our house ( we lived in a rural area). I still can see it in my mind . It’s the only time I saw a living F-100.
