1/72 Airfix Valiant BK.Mk1
Another straight OOB build, using the kit decals which performed well. I pre-shaded the model with a dark grey, and then airbrushed Revell SM301 semi-gloss white in thin coats gradually until I got the desired fade effect. Now I think that a couple of more white coats would have produced a more subtle effect and would have been more realistic!

You've made my day Gordon. The V-bombers are some of my favourite bombers of the Cold War. Your Valiant looks splendid in its white anti-flash scheme. I have the Airfix Valiant and Victor in the stash. Can't wait for Airfix to release the new tooled Avro Vulcan.

I find white is always a challenge - the more coats the better the white but as you put more coats the recessed lines start to disappear.
Love the V-bombers, and this one seems to be the one least built, so such a pleasure to see it! Looks great.

Beautiful looking V bomber. White like black is hard to make look realistic and you done a great job. Starting with grey and working back to white is a great idea.
