End of the year, clean up and new project

December 27, 2020 · in Uncategorized · · 12 · 1.6K

Well, having just finished my A-1, I was less than satisfied with the build. Turned out great, but I didn't enjoy it much. I thought about it and it was the same for the past few larger builds I had done. I decided one thing was my workbench organization...sucked...So I ordered a sprue sorter/holder since I seemed to spend a huge amount of time digging through the box for "sprue H" Well...it sucked...So I decided I'd build my own, with a runner holder and parts organizer for aftermarket and other parts not on sprues. Some of the larger ones don't do well it it, but only two, wings and fuselage, pretty sure I can figure that out! Then I had left over materials, and realized I had most of my tools in old coffee cups, so I built a tool caddy. Now to decide how to paint this beast once I'm done so I can make the proper decisions as I build, but so far so good!

  1. Nice Rob. I do like your tool holder. I got a "sprue holder" similar to this at a supermarket though mine is a little lower and only has 5 slots but in theory can hold 10 trees. Under $10

  2. That looks like it will work well!

  3. Yeah, that's definitely a Chief's workspace. 🙂

  4. A very tidy workplace, Rob.
I like that sprue holder idea a lot, searching sprue 'H', is very recognizable.

  5. Insanely clean, too much space and way too organized. Never gonna work out. No chilled holder for your beer included in the tool stand?

  6. We can see that this is a long time planned project, and a hefty amount invested in it. Looks like it will be a stunning Pony, hoping to see some steps da your build progresses Rob

  7. Good pick. This kit shouldn’t be a pleasant experience.

  8. Good for you. You ARE the "Organization Man."

  9. Very nice, but will it stay organized.
