A6M5c Zero, Academy 1/72

January 11, 2021 · in Aviation · · 21 · 2.1K

I found myself inspired by the many wonderful aircraft found on iModeler...so I dug this from the stash thinking it would be a relative short build compared to some of my armor projects. I underestimated the "short build" part, low parts count and small scale does not necessarily relate to quick build..LOL. But it was Fun!

  1. Very impressive super clean build.

  2. Nicely done Curt, looks good, 1/72 is my scale !

  3. Every detail is so sharp, I would have thought it was 1/48th scale. Great finish too.

  4. C'mon, Curt, it's clear, you're really an airplane modeler at heart. Outstanding job on your Zero.

  5. Great looking, Curt.
I agree that the number of parts is not necessarely an indication for the required time to get it build.
Better to have a great looking model at the end regardless the required time.

  6. Creat Zero, Curt!
It was not a quick build because it was a VERY quality one!
    Looks definitely "1/48".
    Congratulations!

  7. Very clean build, definitely looks like 1/48 rather than 1/72.

  8. Very nice! I really like that yellow tail - unusual scheme for a Zero.

  9. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Nice build Curt. I am in par with fellow modeler Greg, the yellow portion of the tail, foe me, is what set's it apart from other Zero's.
No matter the scale, fun is always at hand, one just has too look for it.
Seems to me you found it!
