African Storm…1/48 Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib cardoor, RAAF
Built in 2012.
In mid 1943 five Typhoons were intended for desert trials but only three made it to Egypt where they served and were tested by 451 Sqn RAAF until October 1943.
They were fitted with a trop filter. Sadly found no (close-up) pic of these filters, rare information in general, so back then my dad looked what other modelers did, added some self interpretation and did some scratchwork.
Hasegawa kit, serials are from Techmod, Gunze and Tamiya acrylics, the Azure is from Model Master.

First time I see a Typhoon in desert scheme.
It looks beautiful, Reinhard.
Like the weathering a lot, especially on the bottom it looks awesome.
An absolute “Like”.

Nice work on that model Reinhard.
That desert camouflage gives the Typhoon a different look, love it.
Good work on the light weathering.
