Project 1164 Slava - Moskva

January 9, 2021 · in Ships · · 8 · 3.3K

The Kit is from in a scale that brings a good set to represent this ship both in full hull and in waterline. The model is sufficient to be built out of box, although the radars must be supplemented with photo-etched parts. The radars of this class of Russian ships and of the Kirov series are large and are better with photo-etched. In my case I have used a generic set of radars and guardrails as a complement.

I have added small details in scracht and taking advantage of other leftovers from photobrawing to give more details to the model. The chains are made of copper wire, antennas and small elements of the electronic complex of the ship.

The paints used were Vallejo Model Air 907 (FS36473) for the structures and 70.818 (Red Leather) for the cover. For the base I almost always use the Frank Sparh method on my models and finish with a medium gel with cotton.

  1. Nice job on the ship and water base.

  2. That is very impressive! Such detail on such a tiny scale, beautiful and well done!

  3. Impressive details on such a small scale ship, Manuel.
    It looks amazing!

  4. This one brings back memories. The Slava class was one of the toughest ships (next to the Kirov) to kill in the computer naval warfare game Harpoon.

You captured the cluttered deck look of post WW2 Soviet naval warships.

  5. Not into ships, but this is magnificant, Manuel. @kometa
The battery shows how small this build is.
    The water effects are outstanding.

  6. Amazing work in 1/700. I couldn't even see that in real life! Very nice result.

  7. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
    Amazing work and skills Manuel.
For such a scale, your details really make this model stick out.
Your water effects are a show stopper.

  8. Thank you guys very much, you are very kind. The ship has been a bit complicated to build but I think it has a good result.
