The kit was pretty easy to build. The only place that required some attention is the wing root to the body. The gap there required a bit of putty.
My main issues were with the aftermarket parts. The windshield mechanism is a lot more complex than what was in the kit. The Kaiser resin cockpit is much better but you need to be extra careful with the alignment. I used the Quickboost auxiliary intakes. They are smaller than the intakes on the fuselage from the kit. You will need some plastic trims.
Thanks, George. The Kaiser resin did a good job with the cockpit. The ESCII F-5E has better cockpit details than the AFV club. That is a surprise, considering how old the ESCII kit is.
Thanks for all the comments. The F-5E is one of my favorite jet fighters. I have an ESCII version of it with some AMS resin parts. Recently I got hold of a Tiger Meet version of ROCAF decals. I think I will build another one down the road.
Thanks, Greg. The monotone color scheme is always a challenge to make them interesting. I plan to do a more colorful version of the F-5E down the road.

Those look very nice models, Thomas! I would love to see more pics of them!

They both look great, Thomas.
What a contradiction, I16 and F5.
Agree with Spiros to share some more pictures.

Thanks for adding more photos of this and the I-16.
I saw an F-5 fly at Oshkosh in 2019, still a very capable jet.
Nice to see one in these markings.

Thanks, John. I always like the F-5 family. It was too bad that F-20s never got into production.

That's a great-looking F-5 - love the way you got the gray scheme mottled so that it isn't "boring!"
