Hasegawa 1/48 Ki-44-I 33rd Sentai

February 1, 2021 · in Aviation · · 11 · 1.9K

Another fairly straightforward build construction wise. This unusual camouflage scheme took a few iterations to get right. Paints used were AK Real Color and Mr Color and weathered with a panel wash and oils. More details can be seen here:

  1. Looks like you iterated it just right. Looks spot on to pics I've seen. Nice work.

  2. That’s a great airbrush work that reproduces the unique way those meandering Japanese camouflages looked like. I don’t think I ever seen a Tojo quite like this one

  3. Superb airbrush work. A truly excellent result.

  4. This one is fantastic as well, Woody.
Fully agree on the above comments regarding the airbrush result.

  5. Thanks dudes! Much paint was sprayed on 3 view profiles and paint mules to get my hand to attempt to do what my mind wanted. It's a little too tight but does have a nice overall effect.

  6. Woody, @wkubacki
This "Tojo" build of yours looks fantastic ! The camouflage work you did with the airbrush is not something that is easy to do... You nailed it in every aspect. It's perfect... 🙂

As I did with the Hien article, I pressed the "liked" button on this one too.

  7. Interesting camo. Well done

  8. Excellent model, Woody @wkubacki!
    Your paintjob is Master Class!

  9. Truly great airbrushing.

  10. I like it a lot, sharp and precise build.
