Ford Trimotor, 1/77 Monogram

March 16, 2021 · in Aviation · · 21 · 2.5K

One of Monograms early box scale kits, the copy right date says 1956. Though sparse in detail, The corrugated skin detail is pretty cool. Released several times over the years, this is the 1983 Heritage Edition. I think that there was one more boxing in the Revell label. It's always a risk with the decals doing an older kit, you don't know how they will hold up. These were kind of thick, and did not react well decal set, only applying it on the bottom wing decal. While I've never built one of these , Men At Arms hobby shop had four of these kits still in the shrink wrap,so I couldn't resist.Last shot of another box scale, 1/90 C-47.

That's a great idea, the styrofoam. Looks like the frozen North. White out conditions!
Go Men-At Arms, go Jimmy! What town are you from?

  4. Great model & subject. Have one of the white box versions with the colorful airline markings in the stash.
