I have two of the larger Revell 1/32 scale Mustangs started and they will be finished in the same markings as what is provided in the Airfix box. One will be "LOU IV" like yours, and the second one will be Major Preddy's Blue nosed Mustang "Cripes A Mighty".
I have collected quite a few of these new 1/48 Airfix kits, and when the time comes to build them, I will refer to your IPMS article for tips.
Your P-51 looks amazing. You did a splendid job building, painting and photographing your Mustang.

I can only echo all of the positive comments written above and I too read your article in IPMS/USA. Something to consider too with these Airfix kits are there cost. Folks will always be comparing them to there competitors and the "filletless" tail version offers a niche for this version of the P-51D. Which is now easier to model and really shows that aircraft evolved and improved with the technology. A lot of "Aces" didn't have one aircraft that they continuously flew though the war. Many a pilot flew four or five aircraft that may have been painted up as their own, they also flew what was available. So the definitive model of so and so's plane is a misnomer for those pilots who lived long enough.
