Marty returns

April 14, 2021 · in Uncategorized · · 9 · 1.8K

A while back I posted photos of a mutt who appeared on our flight line. We had him a few days until base security took him. he was so docile that we were able dress and pose him around the aircraft.
I modified the sled dogs from the Ford Tri-motor kit, and more or less you have Marty ,he was named Marty because that was the name stenciled on the flight deck jersey that we put on him.

  1. Always interesting seeing dogs and planes together as I'm a fan of both.

Would it be more appropriate if Marty showed up on VF-143's flight line?

    • Maybe if he's a 'pukin dog' . I just realized by this photo that he was close to their flight line,[upper left corner].@dbdlee.

  2. Smart looking pooch, glad to see he had ear protection.
He was probably hung around hoping to chase after Felix?

  3. How much is that doggy on the wing...? etc. Definitely liked.

  4. Awesome stuff Robert! Me likey... 🙂

  5. Nice, my friend @roofrat!

Great story ! After all they are "Man's best friend". Women have diamonds... we have dogs. I'd take a good dog any day. A new tool Tamiya aircraft model would be a close second. The last picture was my favorite with Marty wearing a shirt, hat, hearing muffs and of course the night stick ! Well done buddy... We never had any dogs around (except us of course) when I was in the Army... however I did chase a coyote once for a mile or so through the desert with a M-60 tank... In the end I felt sorry for the poor thing so I stopped chasing it and went on our way... true story.

You know I definitely had to press the "Liked" button. 🙂

  8. Great story and photos. Looks like a nice doggie! I have a soft spot for dogs and cats. I hope base security found him a good home.
