Power Egg...1/48 Messerschmitt Me163B V41 "Red Baron"

May 21, 2021 · in Aviation · · 8 · 1.3K

Built in 2016. kit with kit decals and additional ones from Revell and Testors, the RLM red was a selfmix.
The model shows an a/c of Erprobungskommando 16 at Bad Zwischenahn in May 1944. This aircraft made the first operational Me163 sortie with Wolfgang Späte on the rudders. For good luck, his groundcrew painted the plane red like the Richthofen one.

  2. Awesome build, Reinhard.
Red with subtle weathering looks great.

  3. Well, I may have modeled the exact same aircraft, but it sure didn't look like that in Testors mode! That looks fantastic Reini! And a far cry from what I achieved; kudos to you and your Dad!

  4. Looks great! Really stands out in that Red Barron red!

  5. Hey Reinhard could you build one with lots of messy tube glue and paint it with an old stiff brush just to make the rest of us feel better ?

  6. Love this plane and love this scheme

  7. Nice work on this build, looks great!

  8. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Wonderfully done Reinhard, it is quite a refreshing view out of the norm of schemes
    for this aircraft.
