The Big Red One...1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw190A-7, Stab I./JG1

So, here´s another one, this time a bird with one of their colourful cowls.
Built over 6 years ago, A-7 kit, cowlgun flame dampers with plastic rods, armoured windshield simulated by painting the frame thicker. Eduard seatbelts, landing gear detail and antenna wires added.
Painted with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics.

The Model shows the aircraft of Oberleutnant Wilhelm Krebs, Stab I./JG1, Dortmund in January 1944.

  6. Congrats Reinhard, it looks gorgeous! Love the look of the scheme, as well as the craftsmanship in the build- awesome! I think if I ever am able to get the 1/32 Hasegawa kit I will finish it in this scheme! Very attractive!

  7. Friedrich Wilhelm Krebs - WIA 29 November, 1943 during aerial combat at Holthausen; bailed safely. Opposed the 306th BG over Wilhelmshaven on 21 May, 1943. Here he scored his 1st victory, a B-17. His 2nd, a B-17 (HSS) SW of Clervaux on 17 August, 1943. His 3rd, a B-17 on 2 November, 1943. Survived the war. Deceased 12 May, 2002.
