It’s a Mk1a Spitfire!

September 15, 2021 · in News · · 11 · 2.4K

For anyone awaiting the news from Models (the old Wingnuts crew) - here it is:

Fittingly announced on Battle of Britain Day - a Mk1a !

Not a World War 1 Subject and not a WNW hangover!

Equally fittingly the box art shows Al Deere's 54 Sqn ‘Kiwi'! I'm sure there will be plenty of options.

The first BoB era Mk1 in 1/32 since 1967!

Roll on 2022!

  1. Thanks for this great info, Paul!

  2. Not my scale, but I think they may sell a few... 😉 Thanks for sharing!

  3. Good to see those guys back in the market.
    Waiting for 1/48 kits.

  4. Good choice for #1 release.Scale up the Eduard and check detail.

  5. Logical choice. Make some comfort food and a old standard.

  6. Smart move, it will sell.

  7. It might not be the WNW of old, but every model company knows that Spits, Emils, Gustavs, Zekes, 'sairs, T-bolts and 'Stangs sell as they no longer have access to more Lord of the Rings money to make the obscure or the WW1 kits.

I hope these sell well and to see what other kits they bring to market using that Spitfire money.

  8. These dudes make magic. I'm sure it will be a sell-out.

  9. Excellent plan to start with this kit. Given the lack of a modern tooled 1/32 Spitfire Mk. I, this should sell like crazy and set the new company up well. But after the Spit, might they perhaps show a little love for the good old Hurricane? Please?

  10. We need a new state-of-art Spitfire Mk.I, please continue then with higher marks as well!
