Newest 109 by my dad, ´s Pt II Dual Combo I bought him for Father´s Day.
Built oob, added brake lines with plastic rods and lead wire. Antenna wires done with EZ Line, the slack is intended. When the mast was mounted on the canopy, the wire led through the mast into the canopy and was connected with the canopy locking system. Antenna was only tensioned when the pilot locked the canopy, or else he couldn´t open it completely.
Painted with MRP RLM74/75/76, fuselage band is painted too.
Since last year, Eduard produces new kind of decals. These behave like wet transfers, to say when they are dry you can remove (carefully) the carrier film. Or accidentally like my dad when he applied the washing, most of the carrier film came off.

Model shows the aircraft of Feldwebel Wolfgang "Lumpi" Hundsdörfer, serving with 2./JG300 in Reichsverteidigung, in September 1944.
He had a personal emblem on the fuselage, a dog with a B-17 in it´s mouth. Lumpi was his nickname, also a name for dogs. A part of his name, "Hund", is the German word for dog. At least that´s what I guess how he came to his nickname.

  1. Amazing work. quick question though. on the port side underwing is a long tube/pipe thats not a pitot tube, whats that and what does it do?

  2. Another masterpiece from the Spreitzhofer Factory!
    Congratulations!

  3. Doesn´t get much better than this.

  4. Great model and weathering. I think that on the historical model that faithfully reflects the realities, the swastika should not offend anyone. But that is of course my opinion.

This is another magnificent model. It is absolutely perfect !

Your Dad is such a master craftsman. You two working together are unstoppable as a team. I have enjoyed following along with your build journals. I'm guessing the Late War machine will be next to see the headlines ?
