1/32 Scale Scratch Built Buccaneer, Part 1

November 7, 2021 · in Aviation · · 18 · 1.8K

I must apologise for not posting in a while, life has just been very busy, and this Covid 19 Pandemic has not made it easy, I have lost a few friends and a few acquaintances during this episode, as I'm sure you all have.
After I finished with the Piaggio I decided to give the Buccaneer a go as a detailed Scratch build. I have seen a few builds that have been done, and I wanted to make something that would stand out when its finished. Lots and Lots of detail.

This is what I have done so far, still many months to go. I started in the beginning of September this year.

I promise to keep posting the progress if you guys are interested in following the project.

Regards

Marc

  2. You've only been at this since September? Wow!

This has the potential to be your best yet.

  3. Amazing details, Marc @marc
Scratch building this since September is quite an achievement.

  4. Crikey, that is a massive undertaking. Love the flowing lines of the fuselage, not a boring moment for the eye. Bit similar to the Saab 37 Viggen that way. What can we expect regarding camouflage, a brutal RAF grey/green or an elegant grey RN?

    • Thinking about a SAAF aircraft, from the border war in SWA.

  5. A 1/32 Buccaneer, definitely worth following.

  6. Wow! What a project. 3D printing? Plastic sheet? Origonal drawings? That's REAL model making!

  7. Marc, this is just incredible, can't wait for the next updates...

  8. You never stop to amaze us, Marc!
    This is spectacular job!
The SAAF camo is really beautiful, suits the Buccaneer.
    Yes! Keep it old school!

  9. As usual, I am in awe of modelers who can do this kind of work, Marc (@marc). I get excited when I scratchbuild an armrest for a seat, but your work is exponentially beyond anything I can do. Sorry to hear that the pandemic has taken friends from you, and I am glad you are back. :o)

  11. Interested in following...? ARE YOU KIDDING! I've been waiting for another sequel in the Barris series!

Love the Bucc - it was one of my early builds back into the hobby, and the first I ever mounted on a stand. The detail you've put into this is fantastic, but I am more in awe of how you get the rounded lines of an aircraft like this so well. It's easy to fudge and invent details (not to belittle in any way the lovely detail work you do - just that I wouldn't ever know if it's "right") but it isn't easy to get the curves, angles, and proportions just right!

I'm on for the "low-level" ride!

  12. Another cracker on the way buddy!

  13. This is brilliant work Marc and your detailing phenomenal! Really looking forward to part 2!
