Hasegawa 1/12 SUZUKI GT380B

November 15, 2021 · in Automotive · · 16 · 1.4K

's scale kit

I have assembled the first Hasegawa old road bike, the GT380.
The spokes on the wheels have been re-tensioned with metal wire, the cables have been replaced with thinner ones, and some of the fins on the engine have been shaved.

The body color is a limited edition Gaia Notes color, Pearl Ultramarine Blue Brilliant.

  1. Exceptionally well finished Kawasaki, the wheels are terrific and the blue really pops, definitely liked.

  2. Definite winner. I love the work you've done to improve the scale (spokes, etc) as these really take the presentation and realism to the next level. And that color is gorgeous, Liked!

    • The original kit is good, so just replacing the spokes gave it a new look. The limited edition colors of Gaia Notes are very useful because they are easy to use for cars and bikes.

  3. A true gem, Dagored @dagored
Amazing work on the spokes, they look perfect.
    Well done.

  4. A masterpiece of a model, Dagored!
Amazing extra work at the spokes and cables (and elsewhere).
    Congratulations!

  5. You've done an exceptional job on this kit but the detail that makes it look like a real bike and not a kit is the wheels , the mouldings are clumsy and way out of scale and for me make it not worth the investment in these kits , I would love to know how you recreate those spokes.
I adore these two stroke triples from the 70's and 80's , I would build them all if I could recreate those wheels like you have .
    Well done.

    • It's great that we can now recreate the classic cars of the 70's with the latest kits. Replacing the spokes takes some time, but it is not difficult, so please give it a try.

  6. Maaaan... Photo 11 of 12, what great memories. My older brother-in-law's rebuild project Suzuki GT was my first exposure to the 2-stroke triple; led to my picking up a KH400 for $400 from a guy in my shop in my USN days. Loved that bike, hated to part with it, but post-Navy I had insufficient resources to service it when it spun a bearing and I ended up abandoning it at the old apt. complex. Can barely find them anymore on the secondary market unless I'm willing to part with over 10X what I paid in 1987.

Thanks for the 1/12 reminder Dagored!

  7. Wow Dagored - Incredible work - it looks so real - the wheels like everyone else has said just make it look amazing.

    Great work.

  8. Beautiful Model and work Dagored ! It Makes me nostalgic to the time when these bikes were around in my youth.
