Revel 1/72 Razor Crest
After making the lovely little Bandai Razor Crest, I couldn't wait to get the larger Revell kit. It arrived just after Christmas and I was going to start it once I'd finished the old Airfix Concorde, but got impatient and started this.
It's very good, and apart from a free small issues I'm happy with it. There are a couple of mould offset problems near the nose, and one engine nacelle has slight alignment issues, but all fairly easy to fix.
Possibly the first model spacecraft to feature a toilet?
I've decided to try Mr. Color Super Metallics, with Super Stainless for the main fuselage colour, rather than the Alclad Chrome I used on the Bandai.
This looks like a really nice kit and I like the fact that they did the interior! (I take it the Bandai is 1/144? It is REALLY shiny!) Hopefully they (or Bandai) will do Slave I and the Imperial Shuttle in 1/72 too. I like the Europa in the background BTW. Is it Tamiya's?

It’s the Tamiya 1/24 Europa. I’m a bit of a Lotus nut!

I’ve bought some more Super Stainless paint and given the ship a second coat. Here are a couple of test fit shots (no interior fitted).
It’s going to be a long job getting the finishing touches done!
I’m doing her landed (there’s a stand included for “flying” mode) and will have two hatches open.

I’ve applied the decals and landing gear. Added some hydraulic lines for the landing gear.
I wasn’t happy with the way the front ramp looks when fitted, so I cut off the “hinge” and filled the gap with a bit of card.

I notice that Revell have released a new kit of “Boba Fett’s Starship” from the recent tv series. I think I may need to add that to my stash!
I have just about finished this, and will take some photos when I can find a suitable backdrop!
There’s definitely scope for more detail with this kit. Maybe I should buy another and spend much longer making it next time! Or just wait for Bandai to bring us a 1/72 Razor Crest (and the new star Naboo restomod fighter)

Good news! It looks like Revell will be releasing the Naboo Starfighter from Mandalorian in 1/72 some time this year (2023).
Definitely one to add to my collection
