VW R8 Samba "Sleepah"
This is a little kit bash project that I did a while back, having been inspired by a monster VW bus built by the crew on Gotham Garage (Netflix or Prime), can't quite recall.
Anyway they inspired me to build a VW Samba bus rat rod that was powered by an Audi R8 power train. I have seen every other imaginable variant on line, so I wanted to "seamlessly" blend the two kits together to create a sleeper, which is the vernacular used to describe a high performance hot rod in disguise.
Thanks to the guys (George, John & Spiros) for suggesting that the build was worthy to be posted on head lines.
I hope you enjoy my "Frankenstein" build as much as I did in the creation process.

Very nice work sir love the rusty patches. You could have taken a picture of this with grass and a bush in the background and I'd probably have thought it was a genuine vehicle

Good to see it here, Gavin, well worth posting. I’ve heard of these camper vans having Porsche and Alfa Romeo engines but never an Audi R8, way to go.

Very sharp! I have an affinity for VW buses, as I grew up driving one!
