France '44 (1/72)

March 31, 2022 · in Armor · · 7 · 1.1K

This dio is intended to show a section of the advance of allied troops through France after the landing in the normandy.
In this case I decided to use one of the decal versions from the IBG kit.
Accordingly, this is the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division during the summer of 1944.

The from IBG (72031) is of very good quality and the design particularly appeals to me.
I built it almost entirely OOB and only added a few small details.I replaced the handles with copper wire and added the opening mechanism for the front hatches, as well as hinges for the hood and hooks on the rear part of the vehicle.

I built the Willys jeep from (A02339) completely oob except for the handles, which I made out of copper again.

I also changed the base of (D72045) a bit.
Removed some of the rubble and "sowed" some grass, added rain gutters, the small statue, the sign and the electric wires with the flag.

I used figures from (F72015, F72014, F72009) and Black Army Models (72-09).
These are of really good quality and a clear purchase recommendation for everyone.

The luggage used on the vehicles is also from White Stork and Black Dog.

The small dimensions of 1/72 do make the quality of your paintwork and weathering even more impressive.
    Well done.
