Mirage F-1 "ΤΑΛΩΣ" special scheme walkaraound

March 27, 2022 · in Photo Collections · · 16 · 1.5K

Hi everyone!

The Mirage F-1 "ΤΑΛΩΣ" (Talos) was a commemorative and very charming scheme applied to 's Mirage F-1 s/n 129 sometime around 2000 or tad later, if memory serves... In Greek mythology, Talos was a giant automaton made of bronze to protect Europa in Crete from pirates and invaders. He circled the island's shores three times daily. Talos was the call sign of 334 HAF Squadron that was stationed in Crete in the past, flying Mirage F-1s. The aircraft is thankfully kept in very good condition in 114CW, so I thought it would be a good idea to take some "walkaround" shots and share them with you.

Happy modeling!

These are valuable pictures when modelling an F1.
She is indeed kept in very good condition and this scheme is amazing.
I am always impressed by the complex construction of the main landing gear of this aircraft, it looks very fragile.
On one of the pictures a very nice line up is shown as well, all looking in very good shape.

  2. Very nice series of photos! Who is responsible for the maintenance the Aircraft, they are in great visual shape!

  3. Thank You for sharing! F-1 was a good plane? I remember old computer games when i flew F-16, and F-1 was one of enemy 🙂

  4. Those are very cool markings. I love the commemorative schemes, especially when there's long history behind them. Do you know if anyone does decals for that in 1/48? I'd build a Mirage just for that scheme!

  5. Looks clean and well kept, Spiros!
