Fokker Dr.I, Royal Prussian Jasta 11, Lechelle, 1918 (Ltn.Eberhard Mohnicke)

This is my offering of Roden's 1/32 scale Fokker F.1 triplane, finished as a Dr.I production variant.
The kit is good but with some challenging areas, especially the attachment of the lower wing. I would recommend detaching the central tab from the lower wing and inserting it into the fuselage separately, and then add in a strengthening support to re-attach the individual wings back to the fuselage.
I had a different issue with the bottom wing, where the uppersurface parts were missing from the kit. These areas were built up using balsa wood and worked out well in the end.

This is a very good build.
I'm particularly impressed with your scratch building the lower wings and went back and read your build log.
I built the Meng kit last year in the colours of Lothar von Richthofen, also of Jasta 11.
Our aircraft would look good next to each other.

Hi, Michael... thanks for your comments on my Dr.I. Strangely, I'd just finished reading your article on the Meng kit. It seems we both had initial issues with both offerings but came out tops at the end... :-). Yours has a very smart colour scheme as well, which is what I like about the WW1 aircraft.
I look forward to seeing some of your soon-to-come photos, and well done for your perseverance in producing a smart model from the Meng kit.
