And my dad finished already the next Frenchie.
Weekend Edition, Eduard seatbelts, , painted with Ak Real Color Dark Green, Ocean Grey and Medium Sea Grey. Accidentally used the round exhausts instead of the fishtail ones.

The French were in desperate need of aircraft after WW2 in the theatre. They received a bunch of old worn Spitfires of different types from the Brits.
Model shows an aircraft of GC II/4 "La Fayette" in 1947.

  1. Yet another superb result, Reinhard! The Spit looks great in French markings!

  2. Excellent job ?
Special congratulation for decals as Berna decals are usually very thick. Look so much thin here!

  3. Amazing as usual, Reinhard @grimreaper
The worn state is clearly and perfectly shown on this build.
    Well done.

  4. Oh yes, indeed, fantastic wotk on this plane!
    The oaint job looks fantastic!

  5. Look fantastic! I am diagnosed with spitfier'ozoholiosis, so pictures like this increase my blood pressure...

  6. Nice work on this one!

  7. Beautiful all around Reinhard

  8. Actually, the round exhausts are correct for the IXe, so no mistake, no foul.

Very nice result on this (as usual). Your dad is a machine!

    • Thanks Tom!
There are two pics, showing this aircraft with fishtail exhausts. But I´m sure they worked a lot on these aircraft and used all parts they could get hands on. So, doesn´t matter that much.

  9. Beautiful. Congratulations!

  10. I am not a huge Spitfire enthusiast (don't hold that against me!), but I really like this - if I build one in the near future, it'll probably look something like this! As always it's up to your dad's incredible standards.

  11. There is something sexy about a Spitfire in French marking even if she's worn and torn.
