Hasegawa 1/48 J2M5 Raiden 256 Kokutai

May 31, 2022 · in Aviation · · 10 · 1.1K

Another model completed for the Empire of Japan build. The kit is good for its age but could sure use a modern update, especially the cockpit, radio, separate cowl flaps, and an open canopy. Paints used were Mr Color and AK RC, plus enamel washes and oils for weathering.

  7. Another well done Japanese airplane, Woody (@wkubacki). Weathering and chipping are particularly well done.

  8. This is a cracking job Woody, highly realistic Raiden, one the best I’ve seen. Thumbs up!

  9. Awesome weathering job! Looks great.

  10. Another excellent IJN build. The surface textures (matt, gloss, weathering, etc.) are absolutely impressive. If it wasn't for the occasional Hasegawa idiosyncrasies I'd have sworn it was 1/32. Superb craftsmanship!
