1/35 Char B1 Bis.

This is the excellent kit built straight from the box for the most part. I've come to enjoy dabbling in simple Tamiya armor kits as a break from airplanes. This one sat on the side of the bench for a couple of years, slowly taking shape. The only thing I added was a small scratchbuilt pig tail hook over the main gun. Paints are all Humbrol enamels and the decals came from the kit. I weathered it lightly for now. I'm actually thinking of making a small diorama for this one at some point.

It's a great kit of a cool subject.

  1. Great work on this armor, John @j-healy
Beautiful work done on the camouflage.

    • Thanks, John. These tanks featured several distinct schemes which were dependent on which factory built them. French camo is always interesting.

  2. Great kit, very cool tank, and a nice build. Great spray job.

  3. Good work on this and a really nice result, @j-healy.

  4. Very nice build and painting! I have it in my stock of models, it makes me want to!

  5. Looks good, John (@j-healy). I have a bunch of armor that I keep saying I will build as a break from planes, but I never quite seem to get there. Great job actually building something that doesn't have wings.

    • Pick one and build it slowly alongside your planes, George. It’s a nice diversion when things are drying or you’re just out of steam. I really need to start building some of my 1/700 ships in the stash. I’ve actually considered building some of them ID model style with no PE to simplify construction, display, and cleaning.

  6. Nice one John . These French tanks are always very colourful.
    Nice result .
