Chinese Civil War/Korean War...1/48 Lavochkin La-11 "Fang", Chinese People’s Volunteer Air Force

14/2022

After the USN Skyraider, this is my dad´s second Korean War build this year.
kit, painted with a mix of Gunze H307 FS36320 Gray and H334 Barley Gray BS4800. Horizontal antenna wires with EZ Line, vertical one with fishing line.
The kit has better molding quality, fit and cockpit detail than the Ark Model kit and for sure easier to build than the Mikromir kit.

Besides with the MiG-15, this is another case of Soviets in disguise. After WW2, Soviet air units supported the Chinese communists to eliminate the nationalist Chinese forces. Afterwards they also fought in the Korean War, wearing Red Chinese or North Korean markings. If the info is true, this aircraft was flown by N.Guzhov, 1st Sqn 351st IAP PVO, scoring two kills in the Shanghai region. The unit flew from 1948 to 1952.

  5. She's a real beauty! Love that scheme, and as usual just a great weathering touch.
