Tamiya 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat

July 3, 2022 · in Aviation · · 15 · 1.2K

Another Shelf Queen done. Out of the box, no construction problems, colors are Gunze and Humbrol, decals are a mix from the kit and the spare box.
A 3-footer really, but I'm happy it's done.

  1. It is definitely much much better than a 3-footer, Nikola!
In fact, it is a great model out of the good Tamiya kit.
    Well done!

  2. A 3-footer!?!? C'mon man you know that's a honey. Great crisp work. And the Cat's best colors too.

  3. A queen on the shelf for sure, Nikola @nick
Had to look up the expression 3-footer, but indeed, she is much more than that.

  4. I agree with the others, (@nick), this is definitely a great model from any distance. Well done.

  5. Nikola,
I'd say that your the only one who knows where all the skeletons are buried. For the rest of us you've made a respectable cat. A Goldie locks build. Everything is just right .
    Two thumbs up.

  6. Super job on a super kit.

  7. Looks great! Thanks for posting.

  8. I echo the sentiments above. Could not find anything to flaw, looks like a great Wildcat to me. Colours and weathering included. Maybe all the problems are on the ventral surface? But from where I can see it is definitely better than a 3-footer (one 1-metrer?)

  9. Thank you all, glad you like it.
I want to build another Wildcat, but a different version. Let's hope that Eduard will do a FM-1, I have a soft spot for the ones with the Atlantic scheme.

  10. Very nice looking wildcat model, you did an amazing job on it.

  11. Beautiful job!

  12. Great work. Very nice.

  13. Looks more like a 3-incher! Very nice.

  14. G'day Nicola (@nick),
You undersell yourself, this build looks great.
