This is the aircraft of No. 315 Polish Sqn Ldr Horbaczewski post D-Day. He had 16 total kills with 5+1 sh in the . - this is the Revell P-51D kit converted with Trumpeter spine and Aerocraft Models Malcolm hood set- which is a great set to use. The inboard wing leading edge was cut from the Trumpeter and grafted on the the Revell wing. The gun covers were modified to correct to a -b wing type with the gun openings made to represent the -b wing 4 gun arrangement. -Barracuda wheels and interior detail parts/ decals were used. -The bombs are from spares box with the British tail assembly used from Trumpeter. -TechMod and kit decals were used. -the invasion stripes were deliberately painted to represent those that would be hurriedly applied. Online photos that looked at verified this for FB382. - paints used were AK, Tamiya, Model Master with Alclad clear coat and Testor's flat coat

  4. Awesome Mustang!

  5. Great kitbash of the Trumpeter and Revell kits. I like your authentically rough approach to the D-Day stripes. Overall, nice attention to detail and finish.

  6. Great build! Love to see American subjects in RAF markings.

  7. Great conversion. Must have been a lot of work.

  8. A great kitbash. Also agree on the treatment of the D-Day stripes.

  9. Great build and outstanding result Steve!

  10. Excellent. So many times I've carefully masked those stripes knowing full well what you say is true! Whitewash brush more like it. Bit like the Russian front Luftwaffe. Whitewash clabbered on!

  11. Nice to see such great model of Mustang from Polish squadron!
