RFM 1/35 Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.J

September 16, 2022 · in Armor · · 12 · 1.9K

After the Czech tanks, the time had come to build a . I went for the new Ryefield Model Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.J (2020 tool). A very cleanly molded & detailed kit with workable tracks and suspension. I chose to build as a fixed suspension but I can see the option being helpful for diorama builders. The tracks took a bit of work to assemble (take care to use extra thin cement sparingly on the two pins per link to ensure the track remains workable). But the end result is very satisfying. Finished in Tamiya acrylics (Dark Yellow 2 XF-88) and weathered with enamels.

does not provide unit or location information for the included markings. Depicted simply as a dunkelgelb Pz.III. Finished September 2021 (took almost five months due to other life stuff).

  5. Nice job, DJ. Overall, looks nice and your patience on the tracks paid off.

    • Thank you Gary.. the RFM kit was really nice. I have a couple more in the stash and I expect them to be good builds. Quality articulated tracks are very nice.. even more so when they're out of the box.

  6. Man, you're turning out one beauty after another DJ! 😃 Great looking armor model @juan2six!
