Nikon D300; Focus Stacking using Helicon Focus; Editing using LightRoom

Kit:
Academy KV-107-II-5 (12205)

Decals: Belcher Bits Labrador/Voyager & Chinook (BD19) - superb decals

Accessories:
Belcher Bits resin APU tail (BB25),E-Z Masks vinyl (#264) - the very best masks in my opinion

Paint:
Yellow FS13538 - Mr. Hobby Aqueous H4 Yellow (10 drops of red added to the full bottle
Red - Mr. Hobby Aqueous H23 Shine Red

This is a very straightforward kit by Academy. The overall shape seems accurate and this boxing is the only one which includes the sponsons required to build a Canadian Labrador..

The panel lines are few and are cavernous - not up to modern standards.

The glass parts are superb and fit perfectly.

The cockpit is ok but could use a bit more detail. Lots of room for scratch building.

The cargo hold is very nice except for a number of ejection pin marks. Options are provided for seats and litters. This area of the kit is a detailers dream.

The blades have no droop but can be bent into shape quite easily. I broke two of mine though so be careful as you near the end of the blade. The rotor heads are simple and provide another opportunity for scratch builders.

There are no major fit problems and construction went smoothly. The joints around the sponsons are awkward too fill due to their shape.

Overall the kit was a pleasure and went together quickly. I recommend it to modellers with a little experience.

Thanks for looking,

Richard
