M3A1 Lee- Fort Knox, Armored Force School 1942 (1/72)

- The right choice if you like cast armor 😉

The quality of the Mirage kit was better than I had feared.
The lower structure was traditionally multi-part to assemble, but the parts fit together without problems.
Only on the upper structure some effort was necessary.
The two side hatches were extra for gutting, which resulted in some filling and sanding, as the fit had some tolerances here.
Putting the two halves together also required some caution.

Everything else fit together quite well and the surface details are also ok (except the casting structure).
Nevertheless, I have added a few small things.

Now to the decals - that was the second time I processed some of Mirage.
And had the same problems again.
These are very fragile and tend to break and they seemed a bit stiff to me despite the use of softer.

The included rubber tracks also look quite good, but were a bit too long.

Used extra parts:
RB Model 72B60, MR Models MR-72060, Master GM-72-001

  1. Another fine build, Simon @s-nagorsnik
    The entire diorama looks excellent.
All added extras make it look even better, a pity about the decals though, but the end result is really amazing.

  2. Great results, Simon!

  3. Well done Simon, nice display base too.

  4. A fantastic diorama, Simon!

  5. Nice diorama in pint sized scale Simon. It’s what I prefer for my builds too. 1/72-1/76.
Your inspiring build will be looked at frequently !

  6. very nice diorama!

  7. Awesome and "great" little vignette, congrats!

  8. Thanks guys!
I'm glad about all your nice comments😁

  9. Well done on a really small tank, Simon (@s-nagorsnik). I have liked this tank since I saw it in the movie Sahara with Humphrey Bogart. The newer Sahara with Jim Belushi isn't bad either, but not quite the classic Bogart. The extra detailing you have done really adds a lot to the kit. Keep the 1/72 armor coming!

  10. Another one of your small classics, Simon (@snagorsnik). Beautiful work.

  11. Nicely done, Simon!

  12. Great tank and display, especially in this scale.

  13. Very well executed dio.
