M4A1 (76) W Sherman- Operation Cobra, France Summer 1944 (1/72)

December 7, 2022 · in Armor · · 7 Comments

A nice little kit but it also has a few disadvantages.
Here I also use the opportunity to reduce my inventory of conversion parts a bit;).

There are two options for the bogies included- a one-piece, simplified version and one to assemble.
I had no problems with the fitting accuracy of the parts and the alu barrel from Aber also fitted without any reworking.
The included rubber tracks look quite passable (for rubber tracks;))

Disadvantage: All lifting lugs are solid, the protective brackets for periscopes and lamps are missing and the screw connection on the hull front is not shown particularly accurately.

I also removed the rear side vents and added some from Dragon's .
And I also added a few other small details.

If you are looking for quick fun, you should still be well served.

Only the fit of the OKB tracks wasn't quite as perfect.
Although they fit together with the teeth of the drive wheel but this had to be widened.

In order to attach the equipment and the sandbags, I quickly removed all the underlying details.
Since the set is intended for the Dragon kit, I had to fill a few gaps around the sacks in the back.

Used Items:

  1. Great build, especially in 1/72, it could easily pass for 1/48 or even 1/35.

  2. Amazing job, Simon! Quite a number of nice extras used!
