M3 Scout Car, IDF, 1/35
Greetings to all forum members.
Today I want to show you the last military vehicle I could finish. It is a M3 Scout Car from HobbyBoss in 1/35 scale.
It is a kit known to all. It has a quite correct detailing, with a very good fitting of parts. The truth is that it is a very easy kit to build.
To make it difficult, I decided to make an uncommon version, so I decided for a version used by the IDF in the Israeli War of Independence.
A significant number of these vehicles were modified by hand in 1948, enclosing them with armoured plates, and fitting them with a turret with a machine gun. They were also fitted with a second machine gun in the driver's passenger position.
The fact that these modifications were made by hand and in different places meant that many of these vehicles were different from each other.
To make this model, I used photos and plans found on the internet, and in the book "Early IDF armoured cars" by Tom Gannon.
For these modifications I used 0,3 and 0,5 mm plasticard. The decals are leftovers from other kits and the sand channels are from Hauler. The paint is made with Vallejo acrylics, and the wethering is made with Mig washes and Mig and Vallejo pigments.
I hope you like it, and any criticism is welcome.
Regards.
That's a nice looking build, Juan. Despite it being "one" color it's very eye catching. Love the paint/weathering.

Thanks for the comment. I keep the "1/48" of the Trojan's post...
Greetings.

The modifications have given this “easy” kit a new lease of life, Juan, a great idea very well carried out.
Wonderful looking build.
A very interesting conversion, perfectly performed, Juan. The completed model looks superb!
Great result on the conversion, Juan @juanravi73
Weathering and paint result is truly amazing.
Nicely done conversion. I believe they also modified the American half track.
