Academy 1/48 Spitfire XIVc and Bubble Canopy

July 12, 2024 · in Aviation · · 12 · 378

An old Academy mold kit that became synonym with KMC resin set to correct the shape of the nose, rudder and spinner.
Two kits are presented here. Yet, I had only one KMC set. The Bubble Canopy PR Griffon Spitfire was scratch made using KMCs set as a master to obtain the correct dimensions. These models were built years ago before the much better Airfix kit came out.

How did you get that antenna on the rear curved this nicely, is that made of stretched sprue?

  3. Nice! Love those clipped wings and Griffons...

  5. Well done - love those Griffon spits!

  6. Nice work on these, Rafi. Hopefully Airfix brings us a high back XIV soon.
