Dark priestess Aväticana ( 3D printapprox. 1:12 )

September 21, 2024 · in Figures · · 13 · 143

This is my 3rd miniature and she is the best one so far. For first time, I used airbrush to get smooth colors transition and it definitely paid off.
This beatiful print is created by GSculpt and its original name is "Gunaty - pale priestess", but I had a bit different idea how to finish it. I wanted to show how beauty and cruelty can join in one body. Definitely, she is not innocent.

I used only Vallejo colors. However, I found out during the procces why all miniature painters have plenty of shades... I must admit that I missed a lot of them - so, there is a plan: I need to buy a lot more color shades for my next figure - LOL.

If you like this model, you might check https://gsculpt.art. There is a lot of nice figures for 3D printing and for reasonable prices (I am not advertising, I already stopped bying figures from that guy. I found one who is making only anime girls and that is what I am interested in the most.)

P.S.
This is first time I succeeded in photoshooting against black background - that is remarkable milestone for me. 🙂

  1. Beautiful, but a close run thing between art and pornography.

  2. Very Nice work! Good job with your 1st airbrush attempt!

Is it a 3-d rendering-via resin? Your blending of color palettes is nice w/ purple & red...Also the attractive sexy quality balanced with the menacing aspect ...You nailed it!

  3. Fantastic result, Martin! Excellent use of airbrush!

  4. Some amazing painting done, Martin @naviatik
The use of airbrush did definitely improve the result.
    Well done.

  5. Damn near flawless. Well, well done, Martin

  6. I believe that this figure is pornography and has no place on this site.

    • Hi David, with all respect, this is not pornography at all.By any definition.
I honestly do not understand why people can see that way... Even in photography there are act pictures - far more exposing nude than this and they are not considered as pornography but kind of art.
I understand you might feel offended by seeing nice healthy woman body, then please look away but do not judge. Thank you

      P.S.
There was total nude body as an option, but I declined to finish the figure in that way, because nudity is not my goal and I felt it could be too much and it would have not brought any extra benefit. I just like the figure and sorry, I like female figures, because women are beautiful and I do not want to look to display case full of bloody awful trolls... Sue me, but first, just try to check some classic antic statues and figures. Greeks were obsessed by beauty and healt, so am I... But we are not perverts.

  7. Hi, Martin (@naviatik): Well done, and a long way from pornography. I suppose you could have a warning at the start of the post instead of the first photo for people who might be sensitive to this type of work, but the rest of us should be able to enjoy your work. Nice airbrush work. I have a really large Star Wars figure that I am printing, but I don't know anything about painting figures. I guess I need to visit YouTube to figure out how to use an airbrush to paint my figure.

  8. Amazing work Martin! I wonder if there was a way to make1:1 model like in " Weird Science" with the 3D printer.

  9. It's probably the most difficult painting task for a modeller to get realistic skin tones particularly with more flesh visible. As for the pornography angle I think those suggesting it need to take a look at classical sculpture or old master painting. There's nothing pornographic about this piece and it's a superb piece of modelling work.

  10. Definitely well done and decidedly not pornographic either. 👍

  11. I have just been to Florence, and saw lots of statues of nude or semi-nude people exhibited to the public, including in open spaces.
    This is a female figure.
The airbrush work is also excellent.
