Renault FT17 somewhere in France in 1917

September 28, 2024 · in Diorama · · 8 · 46

Hello dear Modelers,

Here are some pictures of my diorama based on 2 kits: and crew.

I also used elements from a MiniArt kit to give context to the diorama.

I spent a lot of time detailing the engine, only to see very little once the model was assembled. Here are a few photos of the engine before assembly.

The quality of the kit is very good, but assembly isn't exactly straightforward, especially the track drive. The original Meng tracks aren't very good, so I opted for Friul tracks, which are of superb quality.

The mud effects were obtained with VMS products.

The diorama was completely made from scratch. The cobblestones were made with homemade silicone molds and placed one by one. The wall, too, and the twisted gutter made from a wine bottle cap.

The details of the characters, especially the faces, weren't very convincing, but they were enough to bring the diorama to life.

I have that figure set & kit. Finished up the figures BUT havent started the Meng FT-17..In my mind the First real Modern style tank! Very historical
