Replica of My 73 Chevrolet El Camino

November 20, 2024 · in Automotive · · 9 · 115

My second 3D printed kit I purchased. This is a replica car 1973 El Camino bare bones 350 4bbl, 4 speed car I purchased in 1975 for $600! Car had a blown engine and rear end! I had a worked 1963 327/365 Fuelie motor that came from a 63 Corvette in my garage. I purchased a junk yard 12 bolt rear from a 69 Chevelle SS car with 3:55 gears. This car fooled everyone thinking it was a smog motor. I built this 3D model pretty much as it came to me. I added the slotted aluminum wheels and BFG tires from Iceman. Also added the vinyl top that my car had. Was a fun build and prep was very easy! The detail is amazing on it!

  1. This looks really cool, Thomas @moparpep
You must have had a lot of fun with that car in the past.

  2. Love it, Thomas! Well done!

  3. Nice work, Thomas. I always liked El Caminos.

  4. A real show stopper.

  5. Looks great! I always like the El Comino, though I was never sure if it was a car or a truck.

Until recently, you could, in Australia, buy a Holden Ute, which was their version of a modern El Comino. I've attached a police version of one here that I saw in Melbourne a few years back.

  6. Love it! The engine detail is outstanding.

  7. Great work on this “Elk”. I’ll bet that bay moved. A previous roommate of mine had a 72 El Comino SS. How’d you do the vinyl top? I’ve wanted to attempt doing one but not sure of the best process. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Super cool! Looks great.
