1/48 Mirage F1AZ
Here's a project I finished a while ago, a 1/48 Mirage F1AZ of the South African Air Force depicted as during the 1980's.
The kit used was the old Esci kit from 1984 which I guess is a vintage kit by now. Lots of after market stuff used, rivets added etc.
Check out the build photo's here: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAM3Xz
Very nice
Thanks George
As you have so aptly demonstrated, those old kits can be brought to life! Looks fantastic.
Thanks Greg. The only issue with this kit (and the later Italeri F1's) is the front windscreen where the frames are too far apart (I'm actually building a F1CZ where I fixed it and looks correct). Everything else, the shape and size is spot on and correct in dimensions (unlike the Kitty Hawk kit with it's droopy nose...).
Excellent result on this oldie, Celliers @cwiechers
How did you approach that canopy construction to be able to display it in an open and closed position.
Thanks John. I just used some blue tack to display the canopy in the open position. For the closed position I didn't glue it in place.
That’s outstanding. SA Mirages are great subjects and you really made this one shine.
Excellent result, Celliers! Definitely a winner!
Fantastic result from an old kit! I like this painting and marking scheme, makes the ,pre; very eye-catching.
