Airfix 1/72 Ju-87 B-1 Stuka
I started this build well before my knee replacement surgery in mid-July, and just finished it this week! Post surgery I lost my mojo for a while, but am finally back on the bench.
This is the new-tool kit, is well-engineered and was a pleasure to build. My main disappointment is that with all the lovely detail in the cockpit, once the glass is on, it really disappears. I was hoping that with as much glass as the Stuka canopy contains there would be more to see. I included a couple of pics of the crew in situ just so I remember what it looked like.
I did nothing out of the ordinary for this build. I looked at references to decide if I wanted to take the time to rivet it, but the Ju-87 had remarkably low-visibility rivet lines, so I decided to skip that - I also was eager to get it over the finish line.
I have always loved the snake scheme. I built the classic Revell 1/32 offering as a kid, and when I saw an aftermarket set of decals for this it was a done deal. The Stuka in this scale was a bit tricky to paint, and I made a few unforced errors that I decided to live with vs. fix just because I was kinda worn out with the build, but I'm still satisfied. I love having the Snake in my collection.
Very nice Greg
Looks great in real life. Your photo skills captured how good it really looks.

That looks fantastic. Thought it was a much larger scale! Well done.
You’ve got your modeling mojo back, that’s for sure, Greg @gkittinger.
Excellent work, Greg. That crew looks awesome. Welcome back!
Beautiful work Greg, my favorite Stuka scheme!
Super work on this one !
Looks fantastic, Greg!
Congratulations!
This is done beautifully, Greg @gkittinger
Hard to believe this is just 1/72 scale. Especially this livery and the snake in this scale is far from easy.
Well done.
Great job Greg, she's a beauty!
Greg, really nice, I always like a nice desert camo scheme especially when they're done well like you've done here.
That's a really cool scheme for the Stuka. You nailed it as always, Greg.
Good to see you back at the bench, Greg!
That Stuka looks awesome and definitely larger than its scale.
Fantastic job.
Airfix did a good job and you did a spectacular one, especially in that it is 1/72.
Very nice Stuka, Greg.
Beautiful Stuka, it looks really good in this camouflage.
Fantastico Greg, very nice Stuka !
Top notch work. Great weathering.
Painting looks great!
Fantastic paintjob, Greg @gkittinger!
Nicely done, Greg. like the paint work

That’s quite a snake Greg! Beautiful work all round, many fine and eye catching details, including the crew. Thumbs up!
Always love seeing your work come to life! This is an awesome build and should have been eligible for WWGD 😉
Very nice on this one, Greg! Great models always inspire me!
Looks very good, Greg @gkittinger !
