Ducati Superleggera V4
Hi guys, hope you’re all well!
This is my build of Ducati’s current flagship motorcycle.
For those who don’t know, the Superleggera is a limited edition, light weight version of the Panigale V4 road bike.
The main differences being, a slightly smaller 998cc (down from the 1100) engine and the extensive use of carbon fibre. The engine generates 224 hp, and the bike weighs in at a mere 159kg. Any bikers here among us can confirm those stats equate to a road legal missile.
The exaggerated front wings also create a huge amount of downforce giving the bike exceptional handling. I personally think they look hideous, but functionality over aesthetics and all that jazz.
I decided to build it up as the track version. I purchased the resin conversion kit from a company called Decalcas, or something like that..
The aftermarket kit provides the titanium Akrapovic straight through racing exhaust system, with the additional back belly pan.
I lost the wing mirrors and number plate also to replicate the track spec version of the bike, and used the studio 27 carbon fibre decals for the frame, wheels and wings.
I should probably mention the kit is from Tamiya in 1/12, and was a thoroughly enjoyable build.
I have the same kit in the stash, with a V4 R conversion resin kit. I’ll probably go totally rogue with that one!
Cheers for looking.
Super nice!
