Captured Fw 190F-8

March 12, 2025 · in Aviation · · 9 · 198

Again this is the Fw 190F-8 kit in . These Wurgers are really the Tamiya kits of Eduard, they just go together. Vallejo was used for the 74/75/76 while Model Master Olive Drab and Neutral Gray were used for the over painted markings. No guns were installed. Added some exhaust and gunpowder stains for weathering.

Decals are from D4804 Captured Butcherbirds Vol III. This aircraft is Fw 190F-8 Wr Nr 585584. It was used by members of the 509th FS/ 404th FG. The outline swastika on tail came from an Aeromaster sheet.

  1. Looks pretty nice - would love to see it with a bit more light on the subject...

  2. Very cool. Captured is my favorite subject; probably a dozen built and decals for another dozen

  3. Nice built, interesting that they overpainted the "Balkenkreuze" / beam crosses (?) but not the "Hakenkreuze" / swastikas.

  4. Excellent result, David!

  5. You have done a fantastic job with your 190. I have a lot of built 190’s in my display case but none of them are captured birds. Hmmmm. Lightbulb goes off in my head.

This looks great and it’s also very inspiring. Thanks for sharing this with us. I definitely clicked on several of the various like buttons.

  6. Very nice build, David @kahu
The way you overpainted the markings looks really good.

  7. Well done, David

  8. Very interesting subject and ditto build.
Love the way the original livery is over painted.
    Awesome job!

  9. Nice work, David. I need to build one of those.
