1/35 Tamiya Late War King Tiger with 105mm
Tamiya's TIGER II, Bronco's IR kit and Takom's 105mm parts to represent a Sd.Kfz.182 Tiger II with the Porsche designed turret and 105m KwK 46 L/68 during April 1945 near Kassel Germany. Paints and weathering products were from Vallejo and AK. The turret and hull were sprayed and the main gun, tracks and the camouflage bands and circles hand painted. Hull and turret were finished with a filter, wash of burnt umber and an overall dry brush of greens for the hull and red, orange and dark iron for the turret. Treads, wheel rims and turret were worn using a pencils. Since this vehicle would have been in service for no more than 4-6 weeks I added very little damage, fading or chipping but applied a good amount of mud and soil build up to represent early spring conditions. All comments and critiques welcomed. Thanks.
That's an impressive Köningstiger, John @atjoe
You are right about the life span of such a tank, therefore your approach on the weathering is done very well.
Thanks. Especially the final April 1945 assembled Tigers from the Kassel factory which were accepted directly by the crews.
