1/48 Accurate Miniatures Yak-1 Lydia Litvyak
Here is the veteran Accurate Miniatures #85061 1/48 Yak-1, finished in the markings of Lydia Litvyak. I used a set of photo etch seat belts from Eduard to dress up the cockpit. I tried drilling out the exhaust stubs that came with the kit but after stabbing myself in the finger one too many times I ordered a set of Quickboost resin exhaust stubs. I also added miniature metal tubes to replicate the gun barrels in the nose. More photos and notes are available at my website [www.lylesmodels.com.]
G’day Scott (@slyle),
Yet another kit I have in the stash…
Well done, particularly with the weathering.
Liked!
Thanks Michael!
A superb build, Scott @slyle
Replacement parts do look really nice.
Thanks John..I think I'll buying pre-drilled exhausts from now on...
An absolute beauty, Scott!
Well done!
Thanks Spiros!
Very nice Yak, Scott @slyle
That paint chipping looks spot-on.
Thanks Ben!
Woah, fantastic weathering and chipping, Scott @slyle. Look at that propeller, those dusty wheels...amazing stuff.
Thank you Felix!
Nice job on that kit Scott (@slyle) Those AM kits were impressive. The subtle paint weathering, chipping etc. really shines on this build. (Lots more excellent work at your website too!)
Thank you sir. I look forward to building more of those AM kits. The Dauntless and the Avenger look really good.
Good looking build! Thanks for sharing.
Rod
Thanks Rod!
Excellent build of Litvyak's Yak. Yeah, I also had to choose between Quickboost and pricked fingers a few times!
Thanks Chas - I'm trying to keep my model building as pain-free as possible!
Beautiful model - love the paint and weathering work. Well done!
Thanks Greg!
