1/48 Accurate Miniatures Yak-1 Lydia Litvyak

Here is the veteran Accurate Miniatures #85061 1/48 Yak-1, finished in the markings of Lydia Litvyak. I used a set of photo etch seat belts from Eduard to dress up the cockpit. I tried drilling out the exhaust stubs that came with the kit but after stabbing myself in the finger one too many times I ordered a set of Quickboost resin exhaust stubs. I also added miniature metal tubes to replicate the gun barrels in the nose. More photos and notes are available at my website [www.lylesmodels.com.]

  6. Nice job on that kit Scott (@slyle) Those AM kits were impressive. The subtle paint weathering, chipping etc. really shines on this build. (Lots more excellent work at your website too!)

  8. Excellent build of Litvyak's Yak. Yeah, I also had to choose between Quickboost and pricked fingers a few times!
