1/48 Hasegawa P-40N
First finished kit for the year and this one was started in February 2024. Back in the saddle so to speak after the death of my wife last April. I lost all interest in modeling until recently. This is my 29th P-40 build and of course I've latched on to the new Eduard kit which looks very nice with exceptional detail throughout. Paint was Model Master OD with Tamiya Neutral Gray for the underside. I added a Ultracast seat and used nylon thread for the antenna wire. Decals were from the AeroMaster 48-126C Allied P-40N's. It depicts a P-40N with the 80th FG, 85th FS of the Burma Banshees. The Hasegawa kit in spite of all the plug ins produces a very nice finished model.
Welcome back Tom, always had you in our thoughts after informing us about the passing of your love. Things take a back seat at times such as this. As much as you don't want it to linger, memories of joy and her company sometimes take awhile to heal. Glad to see you have that skill and gift in presenting a model that is museum quality. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Really nice Tom. How were those whacking great skull decals to install?
Hi Tom,
Great job. The skull markings are amazing.
Sincerely,
Scott
Glad to see that you are back, Tom (@tom-bebout). It takes time to heal, and coming back to your models will help. The P-40 looks great, but I don't envy the amount of work it probably took to get the skull decal in place.
Great way to come back, Tom. Good to see you here again. Well done!

This P-40 is truly a work of art. Not an easy task to get those skull decals on this nicely.
