Airfix 1/72 Shannon Lifeboat – Invergordon.
I wasn't going to get this kit initially but when Airfix released the extra decal set that would let me do the Invergordon version it was pretty much a done deal.
Primed with Mr. Finishing Surfacer Black 1500.
Painted with Hataka Lacquer International Orange.
Humbrol Midnight Blue
Tamiya Dark Sea Grey, Rubber Black, Semi-Gloss Black and Flat Orange.
SMS Chrome
Mr. Hobby Off-White.
I chopped the railings from the port and starboard sides off and replaced them with Uschi Van Der Rosten Standard line.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
Alistair
Nice to see something really different. Very cool subject. Well done! The Uschi line really makes it, Alistair.
Thanks so much.
These RNLI rescue boats always look sleek and cool, Alistair (@alistairfgauld). Their striking paint scheme makes them a standout. Well done.
Many Thanks
Smartly turned out, Alistair, hard to believe that the RNLI is a charity and relies on volunteers.
Thanks so much
Excellent result, Alistair!
Great use of the Uschi line!
Thanks Spiros,
Wasn't sure it would work but I gave it a go and got away with it.
Something entirely different and a pleasure to look at, Alistair @alistairfgauld
This looks really nice, and using Uschi line is a great improvement.
Thanks very much
Great to see this kit built up Alistair @alistairfgauld.
Nice Job!
Thanks so much.
It's a fun build
Well done, Alistair. How big is this compared to the Severn class?
Thanks very much.
It is much smaller than the Severn Class.
I don't have one to compare but the real thing is 13.6M against 17.3M in length
