Italeri 1/32 Mirage III Conversion to IAI Kfir C7 with Aztec Conversion
This article is part of a series:
Well, I've been away from home helping mum for several months. Desperate for my plastic fix, while at home I grabbed a few kits and an emergency "grab bag" of tools, glues and paints. This is one of them. As you can see from image 2, I literally have put blood into this one!
The Aztec conversion is superb, the cockpit is a work of art, although due to getting carried away, I forgot to use it, so I used the Redfox cockpit set instead of the Aztec parts (D'oh). This means that the instrument panel at least is not accurate for the Kfir C7.

P.S. this is a really fun kit and conversion although I would make the following observation. If you use the Aztec intake face, it projects 6 mm more than the Italeri one. At first, due to the header drawing on the Aztec instructions, I thought that I had to move the intakes forward 6 mm. I then noticed that on another drawing later in the instruction, the intakes had moved back to the same position they started from. Sooo (a lesson I broke!) I then checked some images and the intakes were at the original position. The answer was simple and that is to move the bulkhead that the fan attaches to backwards by 6 mm. You will need to trim the edges of the bulkhead so that it doesn't distort the fuselage, but this was definitely an "own goal"!
Excellent job so far, Ian! Looking forward to your progress!
Thanks Spiros, I've just done a lot more...
