ProModeler 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 110G-4
A model depicting the mount of Martin Drewes, Kommandeur of III./NJG 1. It was a totally personalized aircraft, to help the pilot to improve his chances against an ever varying and growing Allied air offensive.
Drewes aircraft had updated victory markings painted on the fin to boost the morale of the ground personnel.
Great looking 110 ! The weathering and shading look awesome .
Thank you, Jay!
Rafi Ben-Shahar (@blackmopane), from what I have read about this kit, the "experts" have ridiculed it for having several faults or the "fatal flaws" requiring surgery and after market remedies to make it whole and presentable. However, looking at your build, your gifts and talents have raised the bar and left us with another show stopper. My only niggle is I can't see it in person.
Thank you, Stephen!
This is the corrected version. Not much of a difference.
If you visit Israel, you are welcome to come and see my collection.
Another excellent 110, and another scheme I really like. Paintwork as usual is lovely.
Thank you, Greg!
Wonderful result, Rafi! Painting and weathering rock!
Thank you, Spiros!
Beautiful ghost, Rafi. The resin cowlings do make a difference, but they are so long out of production that most modern modelers will never have the chance to make the change. The original kit has held up well once the mold damage to the fuselage half was repaired. Your output, in number and quality, is amazing. Congratulations!
Thank you, Christopher.
With the absence of replacement parts, there is the fiddly Eduard kit. The fuselage half is a chore, but with careful planning a head it can be overcome.
I "corrected" on of these and when I sat it next to an "uncorrected" one it was hard to see what the "corrections" were. This is a very nice result. Interesting that he modified a Bf-110G to have the old original 4 - 7.72mm upper and 2 - 20mm lower nose armament.
Thank you, Tom.
My guess is that he was not concerned with loosing the punch and confident enough to get close to the bombers and gain performance.
Very nice job! Is that a ETC bomb rack underneath? Maybe because some NachtJeager were employed as fighter-bombers very late in the war..?
Thank you, Carel.
It seems that you are right. I will have it removed if the references confirm. Thank you.
Another great result, Rafi @blackmopane
Those fragile radar installations always hold me back to try one myself.
Thank you, John.
I think that there are aftermarket products that are not so fragile. The big issue with the construction is the attachment points to the fuselage that require support.
