1/48 Hawker Hunter
This is the first Hawker Hunter I've built. It's been in my stash of kits since 2020. A few weeks ago I decided it was time to build it.
Airfix did a great job engineering and producing this kit. It's not an inexpensive kit, but it builds in to a nice model and isn't a difficult or complex kit. Building it was an enjoyable project.
This is the first of the newer generation of Airfix kits that I've completed, and I am impressed with how well the parts fit together.
Not one cuss word was required to build this model.
Although it's far from perfect, I'm happy to have this model of the Hawker Hunter added to my collection of early jet fighters
Excellent work on this Hunter, Jay @ssgt
It's one of those elegant early jets and your build clearly shows its beauty.
Well done.
Thank you, John @johnb , the Hunter is one of the most attractive military aircraft ever. Airfix produced a great kit.
Really nice, now I need one...for reasons
If they were priced a little lower, George @blackadder57 , I would have a couple more of them .
Jay @ssgt, what a wonderful build! The Hunter is a magnificent plane and i‘ve heard nothing but good things about the kit. Great paintjob!
Thank you, Felix @fxrob !
It is a great kit.
Excellent result from this good kit, Jay!
Well done!
Thank you very much, Spiros @fiveten !
Nice work on the Hunter Jay @ssgt I might pick one of these up.
It’s a great kit…. You’d be pleased with it, Robert.
Excellent build Jay @ssgt! This is a slick looking build and it also looks great next to the Me-262! Your Me-262 looks pretty nice too.
Thank you, Bob @V1pro ! The Airfix Hunter is a very nice kit, goes together without any drama.
The 262 is the Monogram kit from the 70s…
These two are the start of my
collection of early jet fighters .
Beautiful build, Jay.
Kit looks amazing and your work looks amazing.
Thank you, George @georgeswork !
It’s was a great kit , I really enjoyed building it. I made a few mistakes in the process, but it’s still worth keeping.
Nice result!
Thanks John @j-healy !
It’s hard to go wrong with this model.
Nice Hunter, Jay! Looks great.
Thank you, Greg @gkittinger !
I appreciate the kind words. This is one of the few I’ve built that I completely enjoyed.
A very nice build, Jay!
A couple of years ago I did a Dutch version of this nice, but indeed pricey, kit.

Alfred @alfred … the weathering/ faded paint on yours looks top notch !
The high price of newer models is helping me remain focused on building the ones I already have. I guess that’s a good thing.
Thank you.
Jay, no cuss words during construction is a real testament to the fidelity of a model. Very nice job!
Thank you, Scott @scott57 !
I hope the other 3 newer Airfix kits I have will live up the the Hunter’s level of ease to build.
Well done, Jay (@ssgt). I never met a Hunter I didn't like. They always look cool.
Thanks George @gblair ! The Hunter, F9F Cougar & F-16 are are my 3 picks for good looks.
I agree, Jay (@ssgt). But I would call an audible and replace the Cougar with the F9F Panther. :o)
Nice looking build, Jay. I too am a fan of the few, new tool, Airfix kits I've built.
Thanks Gary @gwskat !
I’ve got two of their Spitfires & the P-40B . They all look like great kits. They’ve really improved their products since the ones from the 20th century.
That's a handsome model of a handsome aircraft, Jay @ssgt! 🤩 Great looking Hunter, Jay! 👏
Thanks Gary @garybrantley ! I’ve always admired the looks of the Hunter … the Airfix kit of it is very good.
Very clean build!
