This is 's short nose kit. On 27 Jan 45, Teruhiko Kobayashi survived a ramming attack on a B-29 flying this plane. Kobayashi bailed out and the B-29 was destroyed. For this mission, the plane's armament was removed. I chose to model the aircraft as it appeared in December of 1944 before Kobayashi inherited it from another pilot. Hence the full armament and lack of white fuselage stripe, and kill marks. This is another solid kit that's been around for awhile. It only needed some shimming to improve the wing/fuselage joints. Paints are mostly Mr. Color and decals are from Lifelike. Thanks for looking!

    Fantastic camoflage, John!

  7. Well done! Those Hasegawa kits are still pretty good.

  10. Excellent finish John. I do like these aircraft. Very sleek 👍

  11. G’day John (@j-healy),
    Ditto all the above.
    Liked!

  12. Nice work, John (@j-healy). The camo "spots" look perfect, as does the NMF underneath. Well done.

  13. Totally “spot on”, John @j-healy. Did you thin the Metallic2?

  14. This is an awesome looking build, great job!

  15. Yikes! That's a tough way to take down a Superfort! Nicely done Tony.

    • Thanks, Greg. Sure is a tough way. Like the two unarmed DC ANG F-16s that were ordered to ram United #93 on 9/11 before it crashed in PA. That’s a tall order.

  16. Beautiful detailed work. I love Japanese planes, I used to build a lot of them.

    • Thanks, Milan. Japanese subjects are always interesting. I tend to build a lot more Pacific theater subjects then ETO stuff when it comes to WW2.
