1:48 Classic Airframes B.2/B.20 English Electric Canberra
My Luftwaffe schemed 1:48 Classic Airframes B.2/B.20 English Electric Canberra Export Version. A good kit if you use some care. The Canberra astute amongst you will notice that intakes a bit odd with longer body and aux cones. When I began construction of intakes I found that my auction purchase only had 3 of the 4 intake parts. Panic ensues. To the parts bin! Had some intakes from a previous Airfix Canberra build and blended them in as best I could. And of course thought I had put plenty of weight into the nose, but came up short and had to put a clear styrene rod towards the rear. Oh well...but at least I kept it off the shelf of doom. I add to everybody's Canberra build admonition, more weight, more better!
Well done. I was unaware that the Germans operated this aircraft
Very nice model
Very nice work and a great result.
Very good job on a difficult kit.
Great Results! What was the role of this orange aircraft?
I built the C.A. B-57B version a few years ago. I use the SAC metal landing gear that not only corrected the nose gear for the US versions, but also included a cast metal nose gear well which added considerable weight to the nose.
TBH Not sure. Liked the paint scheme so went with it. My guess is aerial radar/intercept target?
Quite a unique looking Canberra, Chris @champagnecrc
The result is really nice.
I am really jealous, Chris (@champagnecrc). I built this paint scheme decades ago using the really old Revell 1/81 Canberra. I always wanted to use this paint scheme on a larger models, but you beat me to it. Very nice work, especially saving your work on the intakes. I would never have known that you had to graft some new parts on.
Thxs George. A slight bit of a bulge on underside of intakes not readily seen, but que Sera, Sera ... amirite?
Nicely done and an unusual paint scheme.
A beautiful Canberra, Chris! Excellent job on the intakes!
For some reason I love the Canberra. Have many in my stash that I want to build. So far this one, a b.2, b-57 and pr.9. Maybe it's that early jet vibe and the fact it was such a great and successful aircraft.
Lovely job Chris - love the scheme!
Like it! I also didn't know the Germans flew the Canberra, and this is a striking scheme - good choice!
Looks great, Chris!
